Findings is a new business launched this year by us – Patty and Dana. We discovered our shared passion for anything vintage while digging through piles of vintage costume jewelry on our mutual friend, Mary’s, kitchen table. Initially, the three of us dreamt of hosting a jewelry event. We began piecing together broken jewels, baubles, beads and chains with findings – which got us thinking about how cool and important these findings were; they held everything together in a way that made the jewelry make sense. This is where we came up with the name, Findings. Without findings, jewelry doesn’t make much sense – and without each other, neither do we!
As we began to hammer out the details of our venture, it became increasingly clear that our interests expanded beyond jewelry. Mary discovered a new appetite for making her own unique pieces of jewelry (FWD – Found Within Designs) and Patty and Dana expanded their ideas to include furniture, home décor and miscellaneous tatty, interesting pieces. As the year unfolded Mary decided to pursue her love of design to include custom interior decorating and adorning others with her amazing one of a kind jewelry. Patty and Dana continued to become chatty and eventually hammered out the details of Findings.
Our Mission: Our objective is to bring together a community of like minded people in the spirit of creative collaboration. We realize there are many people like us, who love to find cool things, keep them and love them for awhile, and then resell them into new loving homes. We love to go to those unique places where the unusual is the usual, where the forgotten becomes the diamond, and the old becomes new. Sometimes it’s a tatty little solitary stool that catches our eye. And sometimes that tatty little stool turns into the next “must have” piece. Super cool fun. And we know we are so not alone! We love the idea of “Finding” interesting people in the hunt of creating, sharing, and growing – and the many adventures that make for great stories along the way. ESPECIALLY those great stories…and cool finds.
